Ace Combat 6 will be hosting a Team Battle tournament, consisting of teams of 2. The teams of 2 will be in either the Military of Civilian ladder, depending on which of the two you are.

The Competition begins on Monday, November 5th, 2007 at 12:01 AM EST and will end with the final battle on Sunday, January 13, 2008 (or when there’s only 1 team left).

Round 1: Ranking Battles – Nov. 5 to Dec. 9
All the teams in their respective ladders will battle (no specific times) and at the end of the time period (Sunday, December 5th) the top 64 teams in each ladder (based on ranking…a total of 128 teams) will advance to Round 2.

Round 2: Bracket Matches
The 64 teams in each ladder (128 total teams) will set up battle times. This will function as a bracket tournament, with the top 2 teams in each ladder (4 total) advancing to Round 3.
Note: If a team misses a scheduled match, they forfeit. More rules can be found at ACECOMBAT6 RULES

Round 3: Final – Jan. 12 to Jan. 13
The top 4 teams will be broken down into 8 seperate, individual teams who will fight in their respective ladders (Civilian and Military Battle Royales) to become the Champion for their ladder. The champions will then face-off.

64 finalists from each ladder (128 total teams): Ace Combat T-shirt and an Ace Combat shirt
8 top finalists (4 top teams):
• Xbox 360™ Elite console system (ARV $450)
• Ace Combat® 6 ACE-EDGE Flightstick bundle, including a signed copy of Ace Combat® 6: Fires of Liberation™ (signed by the game developers) (ARV $150)
• Round Trip to New York, NY for live Final, from January 12-13, 2008 (dates may be changed pending studio availability), including round trip coach airfare for winner from a major commercial U.S. airport near winner’s residence, hotel accommodations for two (2) nights/three (3) days (one room, single occupancy), ground transportation between airport and hotel, and $100 spending money (ARV $1,200)

ARV per player: $1,800

Military Team Champion (2 players): $3,000
Civilian Team Champion (2 players): $3,000
Individual Battle Royal Champion (1 player): $2,500
Individual Battle Royal Second Place (1 player): $1,000
Individual Battle Royal Third Place (1 player): $500

Total ARV of all prizes: $34,520

Electronic Arts has, according to an article in the Wall Street Journal, agreed to purchase VG Holdings, the parent company of video game companies BioWare and Pandemic Studios.
The two manufacturers making up VG Holdings have ten upcoming games in the pipeline, including Mercenaries 2 and Mass Effect. Among BioWare’s already-released titles are the Baldur’s Gate and Neverwinter Nights series as well as a number of Star Wars titles; Pandemic Studios is also responsible for a handful of Star Wars games in addition to Mercenaries and Destroy All Humans. This is the largest deal in EA’s 25-year history.
We will see if an new titles make it to the 360 or this move was just for their pc market share.
